Non-Toxic Living
These small changes may seem dramatic, but you'd be amazed how dramatically they change your life.
From the moment you lay in your bed, to the moment you step in the shower, to the moment you eat some food, you are filling your body with toxins, some of them that will never be removed known as "Forever Chemicals". This isn't the 1980's or even the 2000's anymore, cheap plastic is being mass produced 24/7, not only is plastic the problem but your deodorant, your mouthwash, your shampoo, all toxic. You shouldn't take this message lightly, if your still reading let it sink in... Dishwasher soap toxic, laundry detergent toxic, hand soap toxic, cologne/perfume toxic, moisturizer/lotion toxic. It's all toxic and I promise it adds up and will catch up to you if you don't take it seriously. Why? You're loading your body with toxins and then not giving your body proper nutrients to fight these toxins while developing mental illness and being told to take a pill to fix it.
Start with the clothes you're wearing and the sheets you sleep in, are they 100% cotton or are they polyester that was made in a factory?

Polyester is terrible primarily because it's a synthetic fabric made from petroleum, and its production contributes significantly to environmental pollution. It releases microplastics into water systems every time it’s washed, which harms marine life and enters the food chain. Additionally, polyester is not biodegradable, meaning it can persist in landfills for hundreds of years. Its production also requires high energy use and emits harmful greenhouse gases, making it a major contributor to climate change and environmental degradation.

Toxic Household Chemicals
Tide detergent contains toxic chemicals that can pose serious risks to both skin and overall health. Loaded with synthetic fragrances, dyes, and preservatives like methylisothiazolinone—known skin irritants and potential allergens that can trigger rashes, acne, irritation, especially in those with sensitive skin. Also absorbed through the skin with repeated contact. Over time, this toxic buildup can disrupt the skin’s natural barrier and potentially contribute to more serious long-term health effects.
Tide Soap
Old Spice
Packed with toxic chemicals that can pose serious and potentially dangerous risks to your health with ingredients like synthetic fragrances, which can contain hundreds of undisclosed chemicals linked to hormone disruption, respiratory issues, and even carcinogenic effects. Many Old Spice deodorants and body washes also include parabens, propylene glycol, and triclosan—compounds associated with immune system suppression, reproductive harm, and increased cancer risk.
Softsoap
Soft soap might look harmless, but lurking within that bottle is a chemical that can ruin your skin and health. Fragrance linked to hormone disruption and allergic reactions. Cancer linked impurities, a suspected neurotoxin. Even the vibrant colors—Red 40, Yellow 5—can trigger allergic flare-ups. What you thought was cleansing might actually be contaminating, and the next time you wash your hands you should think twice.
Dove
Cascade
Colgate
Listerine
Dove hides a chemical stew that can trigger allergies and disrupt hormones without ever being fully disclosed. Mysterious compounds like BHT—a preservative linked to potential cancer risks and hormone interference—linger on your skin long after you rinse. Tetrasodium EDTA, a stabilizer, may pry open your skin’s defenses, letting in even more unwelcome agents. And let’s not forget about synthetic dyes and surfactants like sodium lauryl sulfate, which can strip the skin’s natural barrier and leave behind irritation, dryness, or worse.
Cascade has industrial-strength chemicals. Sodium hypochlorite, a powerful bleach, emits toxic fumes that can irritate the eyes, skin, and lungs—and when mixed with other cleaners, it can even release dangerous chloramine gas. Fragrances, vague and unregulated, may contain phthalates—hormone-disrupting compounds that quietly slip into your system.
Microplastics in their toothpaste products. The company eliminated the use of microbeads—tiny plastic particles previously added for texture and cleaning—from all its oral care and personal care products globally. This initiative was part of a broader industry response to environmental concerns about microplastics entering waterways and affecting marine life, still traces of these microplastics.
Listerine might be doing more harm than good with every swish and sting. Beneath that icy burn is a potent chemical cocktail that your mouth—and body—absorbs far too easily. One of the main ingredients, alcohol (often over 20%), doesn't just kill bacteria—it can dry out your mouth, disrupt the natural microbiome, and even increase the risk of oral cancers with long-term use.
